این روزها ما زیاد درباره ابراز عواطف ، بیرون ریختن آنها ، خالی کردن سینه می شنویم.
عاطفه دقیقا چیست؟ برای این بحث، از عواطف منفی یا ناخوش آیند مانند ترس، حسادت، خشم، نفرت، غبطه، تلخی، رنجش، آزار و مانند آن سخن می گوییم. عواطف مثبت که برای روابط و الهامات ما جوهری است، در جای دیگری مورد بحث قرار می گیرند. از یک زاویه عواطف منفی یا ناخوش آیند را می توان به صورت اندیشه هایی دید که عمدتا به دلیل احساس خطر، با انرژی شارژ شده اند. صرفنظر از آنکه احساس بی عدالتی، خشم، نفرت، حسادت، گناه یا ترس می کنیم، حس اصلی، احساس نوعی خطر، تهدید امنیتی شایستگی، آزادی یا خوشی است. این عواطف یا اندیشه های شارژ شده، سپس مواد اختلالات فیزیکی، کارمایه ای (مربوط به انرژی ) و روانی می شود که می تواند در نهایت به بروز بیماری روان تنی بیانجامد. همچنین می توانند به شکل قابل ملاحظه ای سرزندگی و دستگاه ایمنی ما را تخلیه کنند و ما را در بسیاری از سطوح وجود، فرسوده به جا بگذارند.

عواطف منفی می توانند به شکل گیری حلقه های معیوب نیز بیانجامند. برای مثال، مشاهده میکنیم که ترس و خشم وجودمان را فراگرفته، سپس احساس گناه می کنیم یا احساس سرخوردگی یا خود را نفی می کنیم و همه به دلیل احساس ترس و خشمی که داشتیم. به کلامی دیگر، ما نسبت به این واقعیت مسلم که عواطفی داشته ایم یا داریم، عواطف داریم، بنابراین حتی ترس و خشم بیشتری می آفرینیم.
این حالات عاطفی می توانند درک و دریافت ما را به گمراهی کشانند و باعث شوند که دست به تصمیم گیری های نادرست زنیم و حتی بر ضد سرشت راستین مان عمل کنیم. باعث می شوند با کسانی که از دید ما “علت” درد و رنج ما هستند، بیگانگی کنیم. ما از واژه های منفی و مثبت برای توصیف عواطف برای رساندن مطلب استفاده می کنیم. منظور از “منفى”، جدایی انداز یا بیگانه کننده است. عواطف جدایی اندازنده، عواطفی هستند که باعث می شوند از کسانی که به آنها نزدیک هستیم، دور شویم و نسبت به دیگران بسته باشیم.
. عواطف مثبت، عواطفی هستند که احساس یگانگی، عشق و یکی بودن با دیگران را افزایش می بخشند. با تجربه و ابراز قدردانی نیک خواهی، ستایش و عشق می توانیم جریان انرژی مثبتی ایجاد کنیم و می توانیم جریان انرژی مثبتی ایجاد کنیم و می توانیم عواطفی داشته باشیم که ما را از خودمان دور کند، مثل احساس گناه، شرم و نفی خود. عواطف بیگانه کننده از یکی دیدن خود با “من”مان ناشی می شوند. سلامتی، صلح و آرامش، شادمانی و تکامل معنوی مان را سرکوب می کنند. عواطف یکی کننده سلامتی صلح و آرام پذیرش متقابل و رشد معنوی مان را تقویت می کنند.

تخلیه منفی ها بر سر دیگران
عواطف اغلب به صورت واژه ها با اعمال کنترل نشده ابراز می شوند. در این موارد انرژی عاطفی خود را از راه متهم کردن، ترساندن ، سرزنش کردن به سوی دیگران پرتاب می کنیم و آنها را با کارمایه ای که شکلی منفی شارژ شده، بمباران می کنیم. برای کسانی که نمی توانند جز این کنند (چرا که راه حل های دیگر هم دارند)، شاید این راه حلی مطلوب برای سرکوب عواطف شان باشد. با این حال، مزایایی هم در این روش برخورد وجود دارد.
1- آن کارمایه (انرژی) را که می توانستیم برای روندهای خلاق تر و رشددهنده تر استفاده کنیم، از دست می دهیم.
2- این انرژی که معمولا” به سوی دیگران فرستاده می شود، خواه در حضورشان و خواه در عدم حضورشان، بر آنها تأثیر می گذارد، در کالبد عاطفی شان ثبت می شود و آنها را مجبور میکند تا با آن برخورد کنند و مهم نیست که منفی بودنمان را به صورت کلامی ابراز کنیم یا تنها در درون خود نسبت به آنها نگاه داریم.
انتقال عواطف منفی از شخصی به شخص دیگر که به شبکه عظيم تلفن شباهت دارد، قابل مشاهده است. فروشنده ها، انرژی منفی خریداری را می گیرند و آنرا به خریدار دیگری انتقال می دهند. بیشتر افرادی که در تماس با مردم هستند همین کار را می کنند. از یکی میگیرند و به دیگری انتقال می دهند. در نهایت، ما این ویروسهای عاطفی را به خانواده و دوستانمان سرایت می دهیم. در چنین محیطی، صلح و آرامش و شادمانی، کمیاب خواهد بود. انرژی منفی که به دیگران انتقال می دهیم، باعث می شود که آنان نسبت به ما احساسات منفی داشته باشند و این می تواند بر روابط ما سنگینی و حتی آنها را نابود کند. 
چرا اجازه می دهیم که چنین اتفاقی روی دهد؟ زیرا یاد نگرفته ایم که سرشت عاطفی خود را درک کنیم و به شکل موثری به آن بپردازیم. در اینجا علاقه ای به سرکوب عواطف مان نداریم، بلکه بیشتر می خواهیم آنها را به ترتیب مشاهده، تحلیل و درک کنیم و سپس بپذیریم. 
3. هنگامی که انرژی های منفی خود را بر سر دیگران خالی میکنیم، امکانی برای فراگیری و رشد به یاری آن تجاربی که در واقع فرصتهایی برای تکامل بخشیدن به نیروی درونی و خودشناسی است، نخواهیم یافت. هنگامی که کاسه کوزه ناشادمانی و ناکامی خود را بر سر دیگران می شکنیم، فرصت کشف خود را از دست می دهیم. هر لحظه زندگی فرصتی برای پیشروی در جهت تقدير الهی مان در اختیار می گذارد. چیرگی بر انرژی عاطفی، یک گام بزرگ در این است. 

پی آمدهای سرکوب عواطف
سرکوب عواطف می تواند با برخی از پی آمدهای زیر همراه باشد:
1- ابتلا به بیماریهای روان تنی، نظير آسم، انواع آلرژی ها، کلیت، رماتیسم، سرطان، انواع سردردها و ناتوازنی های هورمونی و انواع گوناگونی از ناتوازنی های جسمانی، عاطفی و ذهنی.
2- عواطف ما به هر حال به دیگران انتقال می یابند. آنها اثر ناخود آگاه آنچه را که ما حس می کنیم تجربه می کنند و در واقع به آنها پاسخ می دهند تا به نقابی که برای پوشاندن آنچه حس می کنیم به چهره می زنیم.
3- فرصت ارتباط بی پرده و صادقانه را به منظور ایجاد روابط صمیمانه از دست می دهیم. 
4- همان طور که یادآور شدیم، در فراگرفتن از تجربه ها ناکام می مانیم.
علت سرشت عاطفی مان چیست؟
فرزانه هند باستان، پاتانجالی (۳۰۰ پ.م) درک روشنی از شخصیت انسان، انگیزه ها، کارکردها و رابطه اش با جان در اختیار می گذارد. شاید رویکرد زیر توضیح روشن تری از پیدایش عواطف در اختیار بگذارد.
1- ما جان هستیم. مدتها پیش از تولید کالبد جسمانی و مدتها پس از مرگ به صورت آگاهی، هستی داریم. ما آگاهی الهی هستیم که نه آغازی دارد و نه انجامی، در کالبدی جسمانی حلول می کنیم. 
٢. این حلول بخشی از روند تکاملی فراگیری است. ما به یاری تن و شخصیت یاد میگیریم که سرشت درونی راستین خود را کاملتر تجربه کنیم و آنرا به شکلی مادی در جهان مادی ابراز کنیم.
۳. روند کشف سرشت واقعی مان، اشراق با روشن شدگی، تحقق یافتن خود، رهایی یا بازشناسی خویش، نامیده می شود.
با این حال
۴. با حلول در جسم، آگاهی خودرا از دست می دهیم و نسبت به سرشت راستین و روحانی خویش، آگاهی و انرژی الهی در جهال فرو می رویم.
۵. این جهل یا فراموشی باعث می شود که خود را با تن و ذهن خود که به یاری شان جهان را تجربه می کنیم، یکی بگیریم. مثل آن است که تصور کنیم که ما لباسی هستیم که هر روز عوض می کنیم. این هم هویتی با تن و ذهن، گونه ای حس منیت یا شخصیت تولید میکند که به این تفکر که لباسهای مان همان خود واقعی مان هستند شباهت دارد. حس “من” و “مال من ” زاده می شود و “من” قدرت اوهامی خودش را رشد می دهد.
این حالت به انرژی الکتریکی که از لامپ می گذرد نیز شبیه است، این انرژی فراموش می کند که سرشتش چیست و گمان می کند لامپ است و بنابراین نگران و دلواپس این مسئله می شود که در مقایسه با لامپهای دیگر چگونه به نظر می رسد و لامپهای دیگر چه نظری نسبت به آن دارند. همچنین می ترسد که لامپ بشکند که به معنای “مرگ” است. بنابراین، دو ترس عمده ما مرگ و نفی اند. اما انرژی الکتریکی در تمامی لامپ ها یکی است و با مرگ لامپ از بین نمی رود. 
۶. این یکی گرفتن خود با تن و ذهن، سپس انواع دلبستگی ها و دلزدگی ها می آفریند. بسته به ماهیت هم هویتی (یکی دیدن خود) با نقش ها، اشیاء و افراد، تجربه های معینی را ترجیح می دهیم و میخواهیم از بقیه پرهیز کنیم.

برای نمونه:
الف: هنگامی که با نقش والد هم هویتی می کنیم، ممکن است مستعد افتادن در دام دلبستگی های زیر شویم: 
۱. اطاعت بچه ها از ما
۲. تأمین سلامتی، شادمانی آنها، گرفتن نمره های خوب و موفقیت شان
٣. اطمینان یافتن از اینکه در مقایسه با دیگران سربلندمان کنند
۴. توانایی کنترل آنها
۵. پذیرفتن نصايح ما
و می توانیم مستعد افتادن در دام دلزدگی های زیر شویم:
1- يمارشدن بچه ها
2- دوستی آنها با بچه هایی که تأییدشان نمی کنیم
3- هر انتقادی که نسبت به شیوه پرورش ما شود
ب. هنگامی که با نقش همسر هم هویتی می کنیم، می توانیم مستعد افتادن در دام دلبستگی های زیر شویم:
1- توجه، عشق و علاقه و کشش جنسی انحصاری همسرمان
2- شادمانی و رضایت خاطر همسر
3- تأیید و پذیرش همسر
4- سلامتی و موفقیت همسر
و می توانیم مستعد افتادن در دام دلزدگی های زیر شویم:
1- نفی و انتقاد همسر

2- توجه او به جنس مخالف و بیمار شدن همسر
3- بیمار شدن همسر
هر نقشی یک سلسه دلبستگی و دلزدگی می آفریند که سپس شادمانی صلح و آرامش را محدود می کنند و در صورتی که برآورده نشوند عواطف منفی می آفریند.
گامهای ۴ تا ۶ تکامل سرشت عاطفی را به نمایش می گذارند. هنگام ترس از برآورده نشدن دلبستگی مان، با وحشت، خشم، حسادت، نفرت یا شاید افسردگی عکس العمل نشان می دهیم. همین حالت زمانی اتفاق می افتد که با وضعیت ها، افراد یا اشیایی روبرو می شویم که از آنها بیزاریم. میزان واکنش های عاطفی کنترل نشده و منفی مان نسبت مستقیمی با هم هویتی با نقشهای “من” و دلبستگی ها و دلزدگی هایش دارد. ما خود زمینه رنجش و آزردگی خود را فراهم می کنیم. ما قربانی نادانی و برنامه ریزی خودمان هستیم. این باورهای مان است که مایه رنجهای مان می شوند و نه کارهایی که دیگران انجام می دهند یا نمی دهند. دیگران محرکهایی هستند که ماشه ی شرطی شدنهایمان را می کشند و موجب بروز احساسات منفی مان می شوند.
می توانیم به آهستگی راه خروج از این تاریکی را در پیش گیریم. این حرکت نیازمند پایمردی، پشتکار و شکیبایی است، اما مگر راه دیگری وجود دارد؟
