نوجوانان عموما می گویند که پدر و مادر آنها را درک نمی کند. گاهی زن و شوهرها نیز معتقدند که علی رغم انها زندگی مشترک اما هنوز زبان مشترکی پیدا نکرده اند و هنگام بروز مشکلات و سختی های زندگی، همسر شان درکشان نمی کند و می گویند که شریک زندگی شان در دنیای متفاوتی زندگی می کند. وقتی دقیق تر می شویم و از آنها می پرسیم که “درک نمی کنند” به چه معنی است؟ در پاسخ می گوید “در کل ما را درک نمی کنند” ولی منظور واقعی آنها این است که احساساتشان نادیده گرفته می شود و مورد احترام و پذیرش بدون قید و شرط فرار نمی گیرند و به طور کلی با هم همدل نیستند.
همدلی
همدلی یعنی احساس طرف مقابل را درک کنیم و مسائل را نه از منظر خود که از دید و دنیای فرد دیگری بنگریم. در واقع دیدن از چشم دیگران باید بدون هرگونه ارزشیابی و قضاوت درباره احساسات، افکار و رفتارشان صورت گیرد، مهمترین نکته در همدلی این است که فرد رو برو به این نتیجه برسد که احساسات او درک می شوند. در تعاریف مختلفی که از همدلی گفته شده است، همواره به نکات زیر اشاره شده است:
– از دریچه چشم مخاطب به مسئله نگاه کردن.
– خودمان را جای طرف مقابل بگذاریم.
– همان گونه که او حس میکند، حس کنیم. 
– به یک درک مشترک رسیدن.
– فراگیری نحوه درک احساسات دیگران.
– درک زندگی دیگران، حتی زمانی که در آن شرایط قرار نداریم.
– تمایل پاسخ دهی به حالت عاطفی دیگران، با حالت عاطفی مشابه.
همدلی زمانی اتفاق می افتد که ما بر تشابهاتمان تکیه کنیم نه تفاوتهایمان، در این صورت است که مخاطب غریبی نمی کند و در کنار ما به او احساس امنیت دست می دهد. البته این الزاما به معنای موافق بودن با طرف مقابل نیست. در کل می بایست فرد بتواند مسائل دیگران را حتی زمانی که در آن شرایط قرار ندارد، درک کرده و برای نظرات و احساسات وی ارزش و احترام قائل شود.
تفاوت های بین فردی و تأثیر آن در برقراری روابط همدلانه
هر یک از ما تجربیاتی داشته ایم که تفاوت ما و دیگران را نشان داده است و فهمیده ایم که تفاوت هایی حتی گاهی بسیار عمیق بین ما و دوستان، همسر و حتی شاید والدین مان وجود دارد. می توان مردی را مثال زد که خوش مشرب، اهل بگو و بخند و دارای توانایی برقراری با دوستانی بسیار محدود است ارتباط با دیگران است و در مقابل همسر وی بانویی آرام، اهل مطالعه و با دوستانی بسیار محدود است.

محققان بر این باورند که عوامل اصلی تفاوت های بین فردی، یکی تفاوت در ساختار ژنتیکی افراد است چرا که هر فرد ساختار ژنتیکی خاص خود دارد و دیگری تفاوت در محیط زندگی آنان است. هر خانواده ای سبک و روش زندگی مخصوص به خود را داراست. خانواده های مختلف بر اساس روش های تربیتی متفاوتی که دارند کودکانی متفاوت تربیت می کنند. محیط مدرسه، دوستان و همسالان هر یک به گونه ای خاص در چگونگی رشد شخصیت فرد تأثیر می گذارند و فرهنگ حاکم بر جامعه و طبقه اجتماعی خاصی که فردی در آن قرار دارد بر چگونه بودن ویژگی های روانی – اجتماعی وی تأثیر می گذارد. مجموعه ی عوامل مذكور سبب می شوند، تا هر انسانی، فردی منحصر به فرد بوده و در بعضی زمینه ها و در خصوص بعضی ویژگی ها با دیگران متفاوت باشد و از جهت برخی ویژگی ها و خصوصیات دارای شباهت باشد. این امر در تعاملات بین فردی خود به خوبی نمایان می شود. نحوه ی نگرشی که نسبت به تفاوت های بین فردی داریم بر چگونگی برخورد ما با دیگران اثر می گذارد. شاید فکر کنید که تفاوت ها مانع بزرگی برای داشتن روابط صمیمانه است و باید دقت کنیم تا به افرادی نزدیک شویم که کاملا شبیه ما هستند. اما داشتن چنین باوری به فرد اجازه نمی دهد که با صبر و تحمل به احساسات و افکار دیگران توجه کند و دیگران را همان گونه که هستند، ببیند، بپذیرد و دوست بدارد. می توان گفت رفتارهای نامناسبی همچون بی عدالتی، تبعیض، تحقیر و تهدید و … ناشی از همین باور غلط است. برخی دیگر بر این باورند که تفاوت های فردی فرصتی هایی مغتنم در زندگی هر فرد است. تفاوت ها فرصتهای چالش برانگیزی هستند که اجازه می دهند دوباره خودمان را با نقاط ضعف و قوت مان ببینیم. تفاوت های فردی میدان عمل مهارت های آموخته شده ماست. جایی که می توانیم در آن توانمندی هایی را که کسب کرده ایم به شکل عملی تجربه کنیم و ببینیم چقدر در عمل می توانیم آموخته های خود را پیاده کنیم و در این میان، دوباره ضعف ها و توانمندی های خود را مورد مشاهده قرار دهیم، تفاوت ها به ما فرصت می دهند که بفهمیم چه مهارت هایی را بلد نیستیم و باید بدنبال کسب آن باشیم.

چنین نگرشی به تفاوت های بین فردی باعث می شود که فرد مشتاقانه و با صبر و تحمل به دیگران توجه کند و با تکیه بر شباهت هایی هر چند ناچیز به مشاهده تفاوت ها بپردازد و از تفاوت ها، سکوی پرشی در جهت رشد و شکوفایی هر چه بیشتر خود و دیگران بسازد. در سایه ی چنین نگرشی می توانیم دیگر آن را با همه تفاوت هایشان بپذیریم، دوست بداریم و محترم بشماریم. عده ای دیگر بر این باورند که دنیا و هر آنچه بر آن حاکم است حول محور باورها، افکار، رفتار و احساسات من نمی چرخد. هر انسانی متناسب با شرایط زندگی خود، تجربیات گذشته و عواملی دیگر، سبک خاصی از زندگی را در پیش می گیرد که ممکن است با سبک زندگی ما بسیار متفاوت باشد و این تفاوت هاست که به زندگی تازگی و تنوع می بخشد. توجه به تفاوت های فردی، پذیرش آنها و احترام به این دیگران است. البته باید گفت که هدف از توجه به تفاوت های بین فردی، نادیده انگاشتن و کم اهمیت تلقی کردن نقش شباهت ها در برقراری روابط همدلانه نیست. مسلما هر چه قدر شباهت های بین فردی بیشتر باشد توان برقراری روابط همدلانه بیشتر خواهد بود. هدف این است که با مشاهده تفاوت ها این ذهنیت پیش نیاید که چون ما با یکدیگر متفاوت هستیم پس نمی توانیم همدیگر را درک نموده و با یکدیگر همدلی نماییم. بلکه آگاهی داشتن از این واقعیت که هر انسانی در بعضی موارد مشابه دیگران و از برخی جهات متفاوت با دیگران است، میتواند کمک کننده باشد. پس می توان به دنبال پیدا کرکان شباهت های خود با دیگران بود. افراد وجوه اشتراک زیادی دارند که می توان با تمرین، راهی برای کشف آنها پیدا کرد. متخصصان علوم رفتاری بر این باورند که همدلی، مهارتی است که می توان آن را پرورش داد و به منظور دستیابی به همدلی هر چه بهتر با دیگران راه های مختلفی را نیز پیشنهاد می کنند.

اثرات همدلی در زندگی
– عاملی برای پیشگیری بسیاری از رفتارهای ناخوشایند است.

– فرد را از احساس تنهایی نجات می دهد.
– موجب اخذ تصمیم های صحیح تر می شود.
– از بسیاری تعارضات و سوء تفاهم ها جلوگیری می کند.
– موجب تعديل و اصلاح شناخت، احساس و رفتار می شود.
– در تحکیم روابط همسران می تواند نقش مهمی داشته باشد.
– احساس آرامش و قوه ادارک فرد را افزایش می دهد.
– موجب افزایش اعتماد به نفس می شود.
– زمینه شناخت بهتر و بیشتر از دیگران را فراهم می آورد.
– روابط خانوادگی و اجتماعی را بهبود می بخشد.
– امنیت روانی و آسایش خاطر را تقویت می نماید.
– میل به شرکت در فعالیت های گروهی را افزایش می دهد.
– بیان احساسات خود و درک احساسات دیگران را آسان تر می کند.
 برای یادگیری مهارت همدلی می توان روش های زیر را تمرین کرد:
١- به صحبت های دیگران خوب گوش دهید.
هنگامی که کسی صحبت می کند، کار دیگری انجام ندهید، خوب گوش دادن یا به عبارت دیگر، گوش دادن فعال، پایه و اساس هر نوع ارتباط سالمی است. نمی توان هم تلویزیون تماشا کرد و هم به صحبت های فرد روبرو گوش داد. چون بین شنیدن و گوش دادن، تفاوت زیادی وجود دارد. همچنین توجه کنید که هنگام صحبت کردن هر فردی، به صورت او نگاه کنید تا مطمئن شود نسبت به صحبت هایش، هر چند معمولی و عادی، دقت، حرمت و حساسیت لازم را قائلید. حتی گاه با اظهار کلماتی چون بله! عجب! خوب! فهمیدم! پس این طورا به او نشان دهید که کاملا به صحبت هایش و آنچه که می گوید، توجه دارید و برای این توجه تمرکز کافی داشته باشید.
۲- با احساس و عواطف دیگران همراه و هماهنگ باشید.
سعی کنید طرف مقابل خود را کاملا حقیقی و به دور از هرگونه تظاهر، ریا و یا از روی اجبار، بلکه از روی عاطفه و احساسی هماهنگ با وی درک کنید. مثلا نمی توان با فردی که بسیار ناراحت و غمگین است و درباره مسئله با موضوع ناراحت کننده ای حرف می زند، با لحنی شاد و سرشار از سرخوشی حرف زد.
۳- به احساسات و هیجان های دیگران توجه داشته باشید.

اکثر اوقات وقتی فردی درباره شرایط، مسایل و مشکلاتش حرف می زند؛ قبل از آن که به دنبال راه چاره یا نصیحت و راهنمایی باشد، نیاز دارد تا مخاطبش، متوجه احساس، حالت و هیجان او شود و احساسات او را درک کند. پس بهتر است با نشان دادن توجهی که نسبت به احساس و هیجان او می کنید، مسیر برقراری ارتباط را نیز هموار کنید.

۴- خود را به جای طرف مقابل بگذارید.
در این صورت می توان از دریچه چشم طرف روبرو به مشکلات نگاه کرد و احساسیات و موقعیت وی را درک نمود.
۵ – از جمله های قاطع استفاده نکنید.
باید مراقب شدت هيجانهای مثبت یا منفی در فرد نیازمند به همدلی باشیم چرا که ممکن است موجبات آزردگی و آسیب پذیری را در او تقویت کنیم. باید مراقب بود تا با کلمه ها و جمله های قاطع و برنده صحبت نکنیم. زیرا ممکن است در تشخیص احساس و معانی سخنان وی اشتباه کرده باشیم و آن وقت به دلیل قطعیت نظر و صحبتی که کرده ایم، نه تنها با وی همراه و همدل نبوده ایم، بلکه به نوعی او را آزرده خاطر و منزجر نیز کرده ایم.
مراحل همدلی
1- ایجاد اتمسفر مناسب
فراهم آوردن یک فضای سالم و به دور از تهدید که افراد بتوانند افکار و احساساتی که برایشان اهمیت دارد را به راحتی بیان کنند. این اتمسفر دارای مولفه های زیر است:
– توجه کردن: این فرآیند ابتدا غیر کلامی بوده، پس شما نشان می دهید که آماده اید و می خواهید گوش کنید؛ در این صورت لازم است که به حریم های روانشناختی فرد روبرو توجه کرد.
– پذیرش: به یاد داشته باشید که گاهی افراد به دلیل ترس از قضاوت تمایل ندارند صحبت کنند. به فرد روبرو به عنوان یک انسان احترام بگذارید، البته این نوع پذیرش به معنی موافق بودن کامل نیست.

– تشویق به خود افشا گری: خودافشایی به افراد کمک می کند که در رابطه با  صحبت در مورد خودش تشویق شوند؛ بهتر است به احساسات فرد فراتر از افکار سطحی او پاسخ دهید.

2- دریافت کردن
توانایی شناسایی احساسات و معانی که افراد تلاش می کنند ابراز کنند دریافت می گویند. درک دیگران از منظر نگاه شان به جای تعبیر معانی گفتارشان و فهمیدن اینکه آنها چه حسی داشته و چگونه می اندیشند نوعی دریافت درست تلقی می شود. یعنی با توجه به علائم غیر کلامی طرف مقابل احساساتش را شناسایی و نامگذاری کنیم. البته گاهی در پروسه دریافت کردن دچار اشتباهات رایجی می شویم. اشتباهاتی نظیر قضاوت های شخصی، ارزشهای فردی و همچنین درگیر شدن با نگرانی های طرف مقابل.
3- پاسخ دادن
معمولا با گفتن جملاتی به دیگران بازخورد می دهیم تا نشان دهیم که آنها را درک کرده، به آنها توجه داریم و می توانیم به خوبی شنونده احساسات و اندیشه هایشان باشیم. در همدلی قرار نیست دائم حرف بزنیم، بلکه شرط لازم آن است که شنونده خوبی باشیم. به طوری که فرد روبرو بتواند تمام احساسات و مسائلی را که موجب ناراحتی اش شده بیرون بریزد. نوع گوش دادن می بایست بصورت فعال باشد یعنی با تکان دادن سر، در دست گرفتن دستهای طرف مقابل، به زبان آوردن حرفهای دلگرم کننده و… نشان داد که با تمام وجود به حرفهایش گوش داده و با وی همدلی کرده و شرایط او را درک می کنیم. پس در ظاهر بیشتر شنونده و کمتر گوینده هستیم برای تقویت همدلی باید اقداماتی نظیر موارد زیر را انجام داد:

* همدلی بر پایه خودآگاهی استوار است، بنابراین هر چه بیشتر نسبت به احساسات خودمان آگاهی داشته باشیم بهتر می توانیم احساسات دیگران را درک نماییم.

* در ارتباط با دیگران باید به آن ها فرصت داد تا به راحتی احساساتشان را بیان کنند.
* تظاهر به همدلی نکنیم و به احساسات دیگران لطمه نزنیم.
* به حالات زبان بدن توجه کنیم.
* با درک احساسات طرف مقابل به وی بگوییم که برایش اهمیت، ارزش و احترام قائلیم.
* از تجارب مشابه گذشته برای درک بهتر طرف مقابل استفاده کنیم.
* قبل از اقدام به هر عملی یا گفتن هر کلامی، بهتر است لحظه ای حتی کوتاه خود را جای طرف مقابل قرار دهیم.
* همدلی حد و اندازه دارد و افراط در آن امکان سوء استفاده را فراهم می آورد.
* حس همدلی از شرارت ها و آسیب ها پیشگیری می کند پس دیگران را به خاطر رفتارهای همدلانه شان تشویق کنیم.
* در هنگام همدلی، از مقایسه کردن پرهیز کرده زیرا به احساسات فرد روبرو لطمه وارد می شود.
* دستور، قضاوت، نصیحت، مقصر شمردن و سرزنش کردن احساس همدلی را از بین می برد.
* هر قدر حس همدلی را در خود تقویت کنیم، به همان میزان اصول اخلاقی را رعایت نموده ایم.
* به منظور جلوگیری از تضعیف همدلی در خانواده بهتر است به ارتباط های عاطفی در نهاد خانواده بیشتر توجه شود.
* پیشرفته ترین سطوح همدلی در اواخر دوران کودکی پدیدار می شود پس به آن توجه کنیم.
* هنگام همدلی، احساسات خود را شمرده بیان کنیم تا طرف مقابل احساس آرامش بیشتری نماید.
* به حرف های طرف مقابل کاملا گوش کرده و به وی اطمینان دهیم که سعی داریم مانند او به مسئله نگاه کنیم.
* برقراری روابط صمیمانه در خانواده، روحیه همدلی اعضای خانواده را تقویت می کند. با یادآوری تجارب مشابهی که داشتیم، در درک احساسات همدلانه ی دیگران موفق تر عمل خواهیم کرد.
* در همدلی راه حل ارائه ندهیم چون طرف مقابل دلش می خواهد فقط ناراحتی خود را با کسی در میان بگذارد و از جانب وی درک شود.
* لازم نیست برای طرف مقابل دلسوزی یا ترحم کنیم. مثلا نگوییم الهی بمیرم، تو چه قدر زجر کشیدی.
* مشکلات دیگران را کوچک و بی ارزش نپنداریم. مثلا نگوئیم ای بابا این که مشکلی نیست، اگر جای من بودی چکار میکردی؟
* مشکلات دیگران را بیش از حد بزرگ جلوه ندهیم. مثلا نگوئیم عجب بدبختی بزرگی ! با این وجود می خواهی چکار کنی؟
ورود به دنیای دیگران
در زمان همدلی باید بتوان شرایطی را فراهم کرد که فرد در یک فضای سالم و بدون تهدید قرار گیرد، تا بتواند احساسات و افکاری که برایش اهمیت دارد را ابراز کند. هنگامی می توان گفت همدل شده ایم که بتوانیم معنای سطحی زیرین کلمات را به همراه احساسات و پیام آن شناخته و درک کنیم. این مهارت در دل مهارت خودآگاهی و هسته اصلی ارتباط است. همدلی یعنی توجه کردن و احترام گذاشتن به احساسات، نیازهاء تقاضاهای دیگران و پذيرش آنها همانگونه که هستند.
اثرات همدلی
– موجب تقویت ارتباطات بین فردی می شود.
– موجب احساس درک شدن، رهایی از تنهایی، حمایت اجتماعی و علاقه اجتماعی می شود.
– احترام و اعتماد را افزایش می دهد.
– مسئولیت پذیری و ایثار را بالا می برد و بیماری های روان تنی، افسردگی و … را کاهش می دهد.
– توانمندی جامعه را تقویت و بهبود می بخشد.
زمینه های بروز رفتار همدلانه

همدلی، نوعی خصوصیت ذاتی است. چرا که انسان ها در اجتماع به دنیا می آیند و با هم زندگی می کنند و بزرگ می شوند، برای همدیگر ارزش قائلند و نسبت به یکدیگر نگران می شوند و رفتار همدلانه از خود نشان می دهند. رفتارهای همدلانه بر اساس شرطی سازی های اولیه شکل می گیرد و انسنان از رفتارها و عکس العمل های دیگران همدلی را می آموزد. پژوهشها نشان داده اند که هر چه افراد همدلی بیشتری را تجربه کرده باشند، احتمال واکنش رفتار فعالانه در آنها بیشتر خواهد بود. همدلی می تواند متناسب با جنسیت افراد، شکل متفاوت به خود بگیرد. اغلب افراد نسبت به همجنس خود رفتارهای همدلانه ی بیشتری نشان می دهند و خود را از نظر جنسی جای همجنس خود قرار می دهند.

موانع همدلی عبارت اند از:
١- انتقاد
۲- برچسب زدن
٣- تشخیص گذاری
۴- ستایش همراه با ارزیابی
۵- نصیحت کردن
6- اغراق کردن و یا بزرگ کردن مشکل
۷- بی اهمیت و یا کوچک کردن مشکل
8- نصیحت، راهنمایی کردن و ارائه راه حل
9- سرزنش کردن
10- به رخ کشیدن و مقایسه کردن
مهم ترین تکنیک های همدلی عبارتند از :

– بازپردازی
– انعکاسی احساسات
– انعكاس محتوا یا معانی
– تمرکز بر كلمات احساسی
 – توجه به محتوای کلی پیام
– مشاهده زبان بدن
– پرسیدن این سئوال از خود ” اگر من چنین وضعیتی را تجربه می کردم، چه احساسی داشتم؟”
تمرین
١- خود را در موقعیت هایی تصور کنید که احساس تنهایی می کنید.تمایل دارید اطرافیان چه اقدامی انجام دهند؟ چه کلماتی را به زبان بیاورند؟ موقعیت را بنویسید و سپس آنچه را فکر می کنید لیست کنید.
٢- خود را در موقعیت هایی تصور کنید که احساس شکست می کنید، تمایل دارید اطرافیان چه اقدامی انجام دهند؟ چه کلماتی را به زبان بیاورند؟ موقعیت را بنویسید و سپس آنچه را فکر می کنید فهرست کنید.
