ایده آل گرایی یعنی همه چیز را در حد عالی خواستن، میتواند رلهی برای رسیدن به کمال باشد، ولی اگر تنها راه ممکن باشد دیگر نمیتواند مفید باشد. بعضی ها در ایده آل گرایی هدف خیلی بزرگ را دنبال میکنند و باید در مقابل آن بهای زیادی بپردازند. ایده آل گرای واقعی هرگز احساس رضایت نمیکند. تلاش های روزانه یا دائمی برای رسیدن به حد ایده آل به تدریج به سمت احساس حقارت و تنفر از خود کشیده میشود. این احساس نه تنها روی شخصیت ایده آل گرا و سلامتش تاثیر میگذارد بلکه به اطرافیان او نیز آسیب های روحی جدی میزند. این وضع اولین عامل تنبلی و طفره رفتن از کار است و تمایل به تنبلی حتی بیشتر موجب بیزاری از خود میشود و این چرخه همچنان ادامه پیدا میکند.

_آیا تا به حال اطرافیانتان به شما گفته اند (( تو فقط روی مشکل ها تمرکز میکنی و حتی اگر همه چیز روبه راه باشد، باز میگردی و چیزی پیدا میکنی تا نگرانش باشی؟))

_آیا احساس میکنید درباره ی بیشتر کارها همیشه فقط یک راه درست و یک راه غلط وجود دارد و شما با روش های تازه و متفاوت برای انجام کارها احساس آرامش نمیکنید؟

    وقتی معیار همه ی کارها را به ایده آل رسیدنشان میدانید، بیهوده به خودتان سخت گرفته اید. وقتی این واقعیت را انکار میکنید که باید به خودتان امکان آزمودن کارها و ایده های جدید، خطر کردن و اشتباه کردن را بدهید تا بهتر شوید آن وقت است که رضایت از خود و متکی به نفس بودنتان غیر ممکن میشود و همین عدم رضایت ملاک شما برای سنجیدن عملکرد دیگران میگردد.

اگر تمایل به کمال گرایی عمیقا در فکرتان ریشه دوانده باشد احتمالا این حرف ها به نظرتان بی اهمیت خواهد بود. اما من مصرانه از شما میخواهم یک درصد احتمال بدهید که شما بیهوده خودتان را برای رسیدن به معیاری، به زحمت انداخته اید که هیچ کس به جز خودتان اصراری برای رسیدن به آن ندارد. این توصیه ها را بخوانید. یکی از آنها را انتخاب کنید و در طول هفته ی آینده در ذهن تان نگه دارید.

  • به خاطر داشته باشید شما ویژگی های منحصر به فرد و خاص خود را دارید. از مقایسه ی خود با دیگران دست بردارید.
  • روش ها و ارجحیت های تان را دنبال کنید.دنباله روی دیگران نباشید.
  • از تجزیه و تحلیل بحث هایی که با اشخاص مهم داشته باشید دست بردارید.
  • این واقعیت را بپذیرید که گاهی ممکن است شما هم تصمیم هایی نادرست بگیرید. مطمئن باشید بعدها از آن ها عبرت خواهید گرفت.
